JC Schroder is a Director and Producer of award-winning independent film, live event, and commercial media productions.

Schroder is the key producer and owner of Star Com Productions LLC, a Los Angeles-based production company formed in early 2000. As a continually growing company, Star Com was restructured in 2009 (moving main offices from Cincinnati, Ohio where the company was founded, to Los Angeles, California) and now has three primary divisions: Film & Television, Live Events, and New Media production.  In 2006, Schroder founded and continues to produce the annual Oxford International Film Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio which is the only major international film and industry event in the region, dubbed “Sundance without snow” by the Cincinnati Enquirer, and in only its third year, selected by MovieMaker magazine as one of the “25 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” in the US and Canada in 2009.

Over the past decade Schroder has produced more than 35 film and television productions (from commercials and music videos to independent short and feature films) as well as written and directed over a dozen more, including PCFMF’s 2008 Gold Medal winner “Freedomland” and PCFMF’s 2009 Gold Medal winner “The End of All Things”.  Schroder has worked on over 100 productions, ranging from independents to film and television productions for NBC/Universal, FOX, ABC/Disney, CBS/Paramount, Warner Bros, Nickelodeon, and Sony Pictures TV, to major concerts and theatre, and had the pleasure of working with more than 90 recording & performance artists, ranging from REO Speedwagon & Jesse McCartney to Bill Cosby and Academy Award winner AR Rahman.

Schroder currently resides in Los Angeles, California, where he oversees the day to day operations of Star Com (including film & tv productions, as well as concert shows in the Midwest), in addition to ongoing feature films and television projects in various stages of production and development.  Schroder is also a frequent public speaker at film industry events, high schools, and colleges across the country.
