’08 OIFF Special Guest Questions

Ok, I feel I should at least post a comment here since I’ve been getting a ridiculous amount of questions regarding who our special guests will be for the 2008 Oxford International Film Festival, and when we’re going to be announcing them. First off, yes, we will be having special celebrity guests, speakers, performers, workshop presenters, etc. But that’s about all I can tell you right now. We (that is, the OIFF staff and I) are in the middle of finalizing all the agreements and contracts with the guests, once those are set, you can be sure they will be announced and posted everywhere. For those of you nosy people, yes, we will be having several of the guests back from last year, in addition to almost a dozen more, including some fairly large musical guests and, of course, a couple celebrities I’m sure you’ll know by name. That’s about all I’m able to say right now. Keep checking www.oxfordfilms.com for updates (they will most likely be posted mid-February, after the holiday season -around the same time that our tickets will go on-sale, hint, hint), and I’ll be sure to post another blog-entry a bit earlier to give all you devoted festival-lovers a heads-up. All I ask is that you be patient for just a little bit longer. Thanks for your interest!

The IFFS Who’s Who

Just got back from the “International Film Festival Summit” last week, where I was asked to speak about the OIFF. It was a bit odd being on the same schedule with the CEO of Variety, VP of Starz, and Director of the Toronto Film Fest, but I have to say it was, overall, a great experience (the networking connections alone were worth the trip). There’s nothing like putting 250 film festival directors (including some of the biggest names in the industry) in the same room for 3-days, and you can’t beat the atmosphere, since the event was held at a resort just outside of Vegas. No complaints here.

That’s a Wrap!

We just recently wrapped principle photography on my latest film “The End of All Things”. For the size and type of production, the shoot went really well, and the dailies were just amazing. I’ve seen the raw footage and all I have to say is: I can’t wait to see this thing actually finished, it’s going to be incredible. There’s a lot to say about dedication and talent when it comes to your cast and crew, and I owe a great debt of gratitude to each of the over 100 cast and crew that worked on the project. I know I’ve said it before, but just in case any of you happen to read this, you guys are awesome! If you want to get small taste of what the film will look like, there is a rough “teaser trailer” up on the official site HERE. We’ve already started the editing process and we’re on-track for our April 11th premiere date at the Oxford International Film Festival. More info on this to come.
